Unsolicited E-mail Note
It has come to our attention that an individual or individuals have been using falsified return addresses in unsolicited e-mail spamming and newsgroup posting that refer to several of our legitimate domain names (hpntech.com, visitus.com and inlove.com). Please note that these e-mail and the newsgroup postings are not originating with us -- all addresses on the e-mail and newsgroup postings are falsified. We have notified and filed a complaint with the Attorney General of the State of New York regarding these incidents.

Please note that we are not in any way associated with any other visitus domains including visit.us, visitus.net, visitus.org, visitus.biz, visitus.info, viZitus.com, viZit.us, etc.

Also please be assured that our company is in no way associated with any pop-up ads or unsolicited e-mail that may fraudulently link to our domains or that happen to use the term visit us, which is a very common generic phrase that is widely used on the Internet.

Unfortunately, since the e-mail that uses falsified return addresses is being sent from outside of our company (similar to someone sending a letter and putting your return address on it), and in some cases from outside of the United States (many appear to be originating from somewhere in Asia), there is very little we can do other than to cooperate with law enforcement authorities to put a stop to this abuse.

We would also like to put out an appeal for your understanding, not only for us, but for other victims of this abuse. There are many innocent Internet service suppliers whose reputations are unjustly tarnished by these unfortunate actions. In addition, the return spamming to a falsified return address causes untold damage to the company whose name was abused.

We would request that complaints regarding this type of incident be filed with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission at spam@uce.gov. We will do everything we can to cooperate and assist them in their investigations.

We would also like to state here our corporate policy:

HPN Technologies Inc. does not tolerate spamming by any of our clients. Every one of our clients signs a contract with us to that effect with the understanding that if any of our clients participates in such behavior, we may immediately terminate their account.

    Thank you for your understanding.
